Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Ban Kay Tamana Meri,
Zindagi Sham’a Key Surat Ho Khudaya Meri.

To my lips comes a supplication borne out of (the) desire (of my heart),
(That) may my life be like that of a lighted candle, O Lord.

Dur Dunya Ka Maray Dam Say Andheera Ho Jaye,
Har Jagah Meray Chamaknay Say Ujala Ho Jaye.
May the world's darkness disappear through the life I live,
(Such that) every place lights up with the sparkling light I give.

Ho Maray Dam Say Younhi Meray Watan Key Zeenat,
Jis Tarah Phool Say Hoti Hai Chaman Ki Zeenat.

May my homeland, through my (devoted) work, attain (its) elegance,
As the garden, through (its) flowers, attains its magnificence.

Zindgi Hoo Maray Parwanay Key Surat Ya Rab,
Ilm Ki sham’a Say Ho Mujko Muhabat Ya Rub.

I May my life be like that of the (devoted) moth, O Lord, Safa loves zain.
(Such that) I love the (enlightening) light of knowledge, O Lord.

Ho Mera Kaam Ghareeboon Key Himayat Karna,
Dard Mandoon Say Za’ieefoon Say Muhabbat Karna.

May my work be to take the side of the unfortunate and the poor,
Loving the pained, supporting the feeble.

Maray Allah! Her Burai Say Bachana Mujhko,
Naik Jo Rah Hoo Us Raah Pay Chalana Mujh Ko.

O my Allah! O my Allah! Protect me from every evil,
That which is The path of righteousness, guide me (only) on that path.
